life-sized portraits of subject matter found in daily life in san francisco at the beginning of the 21st century. these environmental self-portraits are in a 1-1 ratio with the items depicted. for subjects larger than the 3” x 3.5” polaroid image, i piece together multiple polaroids. there is something truer about actual size.

an ongoing study composed of portraits of dead animals i have found on hikes and walks. i worry about the future of wild animals and this series is a meditation on their death. as one of my geology professors said, 'from the perspective of most other species, humans are a blight on the planet.'

an ongoing series of intimate portraits of fictional phalluses exploring the anthropomorphic nature of produce from a humorous, sex-positive, perspective. our local organic produce comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

part of a larger study documenting, over the course of four years, the destruction of Rigo23’s sky mural by the construction of very tall buildings in san francisco's soma district.

the show ran from november 9 through december 15, 2007.

i was the photographer for Tiffany Bozic's show From The Depths at California Academy of Sciences. the show, the culmination of Tiffany's residency at CAS, was the last exhibition at CAS' temporary space @ 5th/howard before the current move to golden gate park. my contribution included two 4x8 feet panels featuring 12 photos of specimens from the collection.

this variation on perv presented itself when my friend Tiffany sought out a balloon animal for us as a party gift. the vendor touted her skills ('best in the world') and made a simple inquiry ('is it for a kid or adult party?'). when tiffany replied ('adult?'), the vendor had a suggestion ('perfect, you want the monkey. i can do another animal but the monkey is best'). Tiffany played along, unsure what she was getting or how we'd respond. the vendor teased ('i'm making you a biiiig monkey'). at some point, a kid, dragging parents, appeared and also wanted a balloon monkey; and a kid's parents, seeing perv.monkey, directed kid away. this set documents perv.monkey's pride and subsequent deflation over the next four months.
